Violinist to perform chamber music, folk dances at WFU

Wake Forest University senior Catherine Gibson will perform a violin recital Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. in Brendle Recital Hall at Scales Fine Arts Center.

Gibson will perform selections from Bach and Camille Saint-Saëns as well as Bartók’s “Roumanian Folk Dances.” She will be accompanied by pianist Ann Listokin.

Gibson will also perform Haydn’s “Trio I” with Wake Forest senior Allison Jones on piano and senior David Beam on cello.

Gibson is a student of Jacqui Carrasco, Wake Forest assistant professor of music, and Janet Orenstein.

The event is free and open to the public. A reception will be held in the lobby following the concert. For more information, call 336-758-5364.
