Writer to read from his work at WFU

John McNally, assistant professor of English at Wake Forest University, will read from his collection of short stories Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. in Tribble Hall’s DeTamble Auditorium at Wake Forest. The event is free and open to the public.

McNally won the John Simmons short fiction award in 2000 and the Nebraska Book Award in 2001 for his collection titled “Troublemakers.”

McNally received his master of fine arts degree in creative writing from the University of Iowa’s Writers’ Workshop and has been published in such journals as the North American Review, the Colorado Review and Sun Dog. He’s also edited several anthologies, including “Bottom of the Ninth: Great Contemporary Baseball Short Stories,” “The Student Body: Short Stories about College Students and Professors” and “High Fidelity: 24 Great Short Stories about Adultery.”
