Philosopher to speak at WFU

Philosopher Elijah Millgram will present a lecture titled Reasonably Virtuous Nov. 1 at 4:30 p.m. in the Philosophy Library, Room B-316, of Tribble Hall at Wake Forest University.
Millgram will lecture on the connections between making decisions rationally and making decisions based on what is traditionally considered virtuous in society.
Millgram is the E.E. Ericksen Professor of Philosophy at the University of Utah. He received his doctorate in philosophy from Harvard and taught at Princeton and Vanderbilt before joining the University of Utah faculty in 1999.
He is the author of Practical Induction, published by Harvard University Press in 1997 and an editor of Varieties of Practical Reasoning, published by MIT Press in 2001.
The lecture is sponsored by the Wake Forest philosophy department and the Thomas Jack Lynch Philosophy Funds. Admission is free and the public is invited. There will be light refreshments following the event. For more information, call 336-758-3919.
