Retiring faculty from Wake Forest University were recognized during the university’s commencement ceremony on May 20. The following faculty are retiring from Wake Forest:

Reynolda Campus
• Leon H. Corbett, Jr., senior university counsel and professor of law
• Nancy J. Cotton, professor of English
• Jack D. Fleer, professor of political science
• Richard D. Sears, professor of political science
• Dudley A. Shapere, Reynolds Professor of Philosophy and History of Science
• David S. Weaver, professor of anthropology

Bowman Gray Campus
• Eugene W. Adcock III, professor of pediatrics
• M. Robert Cooper, professor of internal medicine (hematology and oncology)
• Robert L. Michielutte, professor of family and community medicine
• Pentti M. Rautaharju, professor of public health sciences
• Thomas E. Sumner, professor of radiology and pediatrics
• James N. Thompson, dean of the Wake Forest School of Medicine and professor of surgical sciences (otolaryngology)
• Nat E. Watson, Jr., associate professor of radiology
• Ivo van de Rijn, professor of microbiology and immunology
