Former president of Zambia to discuss effect of AIDS on African children

Kenneth Kaunda, former president of Zambia and president of the Kaunda Children of Africa Foundation, will speak at Wake Forest University at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 26.

Kaunda will discuss "Africa, a Continent Devastated by AIDS-and the Effects on its Children" in Carwell Hall's second floor reading room.

The Kaunda Children of Africa Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization focused on providing assistance to Africa's needy children, promoting AIDS awareness in Africa and initiating educational programs to help break the poverty/AIDS cycle.

Kaunda was the president of the Republic of Zambia from 1964-1991.

The event, sponsored by Wake Forest's Center for International Studies, is free and open to the public. A reception will follow. For more information, call 336-758-5938.
