Sharon M. Andrews(B.A.Dramatic Arts University of N.C.@ Chapel Hill, M.F.A.Directing University of North Carolina @ Greensboro) is an Associate Professor of Directing/Acting for the Department of Theatre and the Director of Communication and Awareness for the Wake Forest Center For Entrepreneurship in the Liberal Arts. She taught previously for several years at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and was a founding member of THEATREWORKS in Colorado Springs. In North Carolina she has directed for Wake Forest Theatre, UNCG Theatre, Winston Salem Little Theatre, Theatre Alliance and the North Carolina School of the Arts. Sharon has a particular interest in new play development and directs for the ATHE New Play Development Program. She recently appeared as Amanda in Glass Menagerie and will appear in a new play, DIX, this summer in Minneapolis.
She is a member of Virtual Theatre Company. For Virtual she has directed with her colleague Jon Christman as designer, a world premiere production of BROTHER BRIAN SISTER KATHLEEN at the Gascon Center Theatre in Los Angeles, California and participated in the development of Virtual's award winning play BELFAST BLUES. Sharon's upcoming directing projects include OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS, CATCH 22 and GLASS MENAGERIE. This summer with students in Theatre 295 and her colleague Brook Davis she will be developing a new play based on the culture of the student athlete.
