Brenda Daniels was born in New Jersey, received early training at New Jersey School of Ballet and went on to graduate with a BFA in Dance from State University of New York at Purchase. Currently on the faculty of North Carolina School of the Arts, she has also taught at Merce Cunningham Studio, Connecticut College, TCU, Arizona State University, Vassu, Yale, Sam Houston State, Cal State Long Beach, Cornish College and the Rotterdam Dance Academy. Her choreography has been presented at the Joyce Theater, Lincoln Center's Serious Fun! Festival, and St. Mark's Church in New York City. Ms. Daniels has received two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and one from the New York Foundation for the Arts. Heaven is the second piece she has made for the Wake Forest University dance company.
