    Qualifications

    To qualify for the position of an RTA you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a rising sophomore, junior or senior
  • A minimum G.P.A. of 2.70.
  • Full-time student status (12-18 credit hours)
  • Maintain good citizenship
  • Portray leadership ability
  • An RTA must have a good basic understanding of computers (both hardware and software) and have had some experience showing others how to use them.
  • An RTA is not permitted to enter into any employment situations (paid or unpaid) without a written request to and response from the Manager of Information Systems Student Programs. Any such employment is not to exceed 10 hours/week. Other outside commitments must be discussed with and approved by the Manager of Information Systems Student Programs.
  • An RTA is not permitted to enroll in more than 18 credit hours without the prior written permission of the Manager of Information Systems Student Programs.
  • An RTA must limit his/her time away from campus and the community to one weekend per month.
  • An RTA can expect to spend a greater amount of time in the support and assistance roll at the beginning of the semester (when most students need assistance) and again near the end of the semester (prior to exams).
  • RTA's are required to arrive early and attend a two day training session prior to the start of the fall semester.
  • RTAs are required to attend weekly staff meetings.
  • All RTAs are expected to uphold, enforce and abide by all University policies and regulations. This is especially important as it relates to the use of licensed software.
