Staff Profile

A new addition to Wake Forest Sports Medicine, Tyson will be coordinating the care of both athletic and non-athletic populations on campus. His team responsibility is women's volleyball.

In 1998, Tyson completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences and in 2000 received his Master of Physical Therapy degree, both from Ohio University , Athens , Ohio . Subsequently, he attended Pennsylvania State University and finished a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology in 2002.

Prior to arriving at WFU, he worked for 5 years at Penn State Hershey in the Sports Medicine Department. While at Penn State , Tyson provided care to the general orthopedic population. Further job requirements included occasional coverage for high school athletic events and sport camps. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.

Tyson, his wife Crystal and their three sons – Brayden, Rylan, Landyn – reside in Winston-Salem .
