New HavenNine SquaresThe nine squares, 825 feet long per side, were laid out with a large ceremonial green commons and Puritan church in the center (as shown in this picture from 1996), Yale grew on the north west side, homes were on the east and north east, a harbor at the most southern point, and leather works along the south west border stream.
