Medieval German TownsTown Wall, RothenburgTown Wall, Rothenburg. In 1922, this town was perfectly preserved in the same shape as it had when the Thirty Years' War came to an end. It was the ideal model for the garden city and garden suburb movement that got going in 1905, when Raymond Unwin and Barry Parker designed Hampstead, London.
