Robin W. Simon is Professor of Sociology at Wake Forest University. Her research examines gender and other social status variations in emotion and health in the U.S. She is currently involved in a project on the emotional benefits of marriage for functionally limited adults, the relationship between menopause and mental health, and cross-national variation in the impact of parenthood on well-being. Forthcoming articles include a paper on romantic relationships and mental health among young adults in the Journal of Health & Social Behavior and a paper on gender, anger, and depression in Social Forces. Professor Simon teaches several different courses—including Principles of Sociology, Family Sociology, the Sociology of Emotion, Gender and Health, Health Disparities, and Social Psychology.
