Sylvia Bell, RN-CSylvia Bell, RN, C

Ms. Bell, a graduate of the N.C. Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, is licensed by the N.C. Board of Nursing and certified in college health nursing by the American Nurses Association. She received management training through the American College Health Association. Ms. Bell has worked in intensive care, cardiology, general medicine and surgery at N.C. Baptist Hospital, summer camps, the N.C. Governor's School, Westinghouse Electric Corporation and a pediatric office. She has worked as a staff nurse at the Student Health Service since 1981 and became the associate director in 1987. Her responsibilities are primarily administrative, including computerization, continuous quality improvement, and staff development. She works on student concerns with other departments in the Division of Student Life and with students on the Student Health Advisory Committee. She is the co-founder of the N.C. Council of Campus Health Professionals.

Ms. Bell has two children and two grandchildren. She enjoys traveling, reading, art history, music, gardening, needlework, golf, and tennis.
