Staff Physician Position Details

The Wake Forest University Student Health Service provides 24 hour primary care to 4480 undergraduate and 1220 graduate and professional students on the Reynolda Campus of Wake Forest University.  The staff of the Health Service is involved in approximately 15,000 patient visits per year including sick visits, injuries, minor surgery, physical examinations, international travel medicine assessments, women’s health concerns, psychiatric care, sports medicine, and immunization compliance.  Additional services include a two bed observation unit, pharmacy, CLIA certified laboratory, and health and wellness programming directed by the University Health Educator.

The Student Health Service is an office within the Division of Student Life and works closely with all schools and departments of the University to fulfill the mission of the Health Service.

This position is approximately 10 months during fall and spring sessions and half of the summer.  Responsibilities include a shared (1/3) 24 hour on-call schedule when classes are in session during the fall and spring semesters. A clinical appointment in the corresponding primary care department is anticipated through the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Time off  includes approximately four weeks at the mid-year break mid-December to mid-January (Christmas holidays), other scheduled university holidays, one week spring break in March and half of the summer schedule.  Student Health Service employees are considered essential University personnel and are expected to work when the Student Health Service is open.
