The Setting
Querétaro is a thriving state capital of approximately one million people. Located 120 miles northwest of Mexico City in the fertile agricultural region known as the Bajío, it stands at 6,080 feet above sea level and enjoys a pleasant climate. A middle-class commercial city, Querétaro exemplifies the best of prosperous, post-NAFTA Mexico. At the same time the center of the city, designated a historic preservation district for its eighteenth century aqueduct, baroque churches and gracious colonial-style homes, stands as a living monument to traditional Mexican culture.
Our
session
includes several excursions, including an overnight trip to Mexico City and to the Toltec city of Teotihuacán.
