Students select two - three courses from among the following probable offerings:
- Español Básico 2 (6 hrs)
- Español Intermedio I (6 hrs)
- Español Intermedio II (6 hrs)
- Español Avanzado (6 hrs)
- Spanish 213 (the Wake Forest course, satisfying the basic requirement in foreign languages (3 hrs)
- Literatura Mexicana (3 hrs)
- Teatro Mexicano del Siglo XX (3 hrs)
- Pobreza y Desarrollo (3 hrs)
- Cultura de México (3 hrs)
- Español Médico (3 hrs)
SPA 213 is a Wake Forest course offered by a Wake Forest faculty member and earns Wake Forest credit. Other courses will earn transfer credit. Advanced students should check with the director to see how advanced courses will apply to Spanish major or minor.
Español Médico (3 hrs).
Introduction to the history and present-day structure of the medical system in Latin America with emphasis on Mexico. Practice with Spanish vocabulary specific to the medical profession and techniques for communicating sensitively with Spanish-speaking patients. Visits to hospitals and clinics.
Note: Students in Querétaro may take intermediate Spanish language concurrently with Spanish 213, a possible advantage for those wishing to satisfy Wake Forest's basic requirement in foreign languages. |
