Mary E. Pugel Mary Pugel, senior executive assistant to the president, was Dr. Hatch's
executive assistant at Notre Dame for eight years before joining him at Wake Forest in July 2005. She oversees many of the functions of the President's Office, including coordination of the meetings of the Cabinet, liaison with the Vice Presidents and other senior administrators related to the priorities of the President, service on a wide range of university committees and other groups, and special projects as needed. She also oversees the staff of the President's Office. Prior to her work at Notre Dame and Wake Forest, she worked in development and public relations for various organizations in both Seattle and Los Angeles, before a long career as a consultant for private schools. She is a graduate of the University of Washington. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA for Western North Carolina.

Sandra Combs Boyette Sandra Combs Boyette, senior advisor to the president, has been a member of the Wake Forest administration since 1981. She served in several positions, including assistant director of development; director of public affairs; and vice president for university advancement, a position she held until 2008. Prior to joining Wake Forest, she worked in journalism and secondary education. She has served on the boards of numerous organizations in the Triad, including the Arts Council and TriStone Community Bank.

Donna K. Gung Donna Gung, executive assistant to Dr. Hatch, joined the Wake Forest legal department in 1995 and was an administrative assistant to Vice President and General Counsel J. Reid Morgan prior to joining the President's Office in July 2005. Previously, she was employed at POPI Services and the Wake Forest School of Medicine.

Nancy S. Moore Nancy Moore, executive assistant to Mary Pugel, has worked at Wake Forest since 1976. From 1984 until 2002, she was the assistant to now-retired Vice President and Counsel Leon Corbett. She also worked with the Board of Trustees during that time and was assistant secretary to the board from 2002-2005. After assisting the Presidential Search Committee and the Presidential Transition Committee, she joined the President's Office in July 2005.

Marybeth S. Wallace Marybeth S. Wallace, special assistant to the president, oversees the President’s Associates and the Wake Forest Fellows program. She holds a B.A. in English from Wake Forest University and an M.A. in English from the University of Virginia. Before returning to the Wake Forest community, she researched, edited, and wrote in a variety of capacities for North Carolina Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, North Carolina—as a grantwriter; college editor, instructor in composition; and she worked with the N.C. Wesleyan College Press. She has worked on special projects for the President’s Office since January 2006. She is a member of the Arts Council board and the PTSA boards of Hanes Middle School and R.J. Reynolds High School.
