Security Council

The Wake Forest University Security Council is a program sponsored by the University Police. It is composed of Faculty, Staff and Student representatives from various departments of the Reynolda Campus. Meetings are held once a month to discuss issues that pertain to safety.

The Security Council acts as a platform for the creation and exchange of constructive ideas and formal communication with appropriate campus departments concerning situations relating to safety. The Security Council operates under the practice that awareness promotes prevention and decreases risk. Therefore the main goal of the meetings is the sharing of information to increase knowledge and awareness of campus safety issues. The Security Council has regular representatives from University Police, Human Resources, Facilities Management, and Student Government. Many other departments are represented. The Council's ultimate goal is to have representatives from all departments on campus.

The Security Council welcomes questions and attempts to find answers as quickly as possible. A portion of the monthly meeting is reserved for questions and concerns. Usually there is a speaker from a program directly related to the University.
