ABSTRACT

Previous work had shown that an initially rotating black hole spins rapidly down to a non-rotating state as the black hole evaporates through the radiation of the known massless fields via the Hawking process. If however the black hole is emitting solely massless scalar particles then the black hole will asymptotically approach a rotating, rather than a non-rotating state. The evolution of an initially rotating black hole which is emitting particles of both scalar and higher spin particles will be described.
