Abstract:

What contributions has physics made to medicine, and what does a medical physicist do anyway? The field of medical physics and the different roles for the medical physicst will be discussed. Research in three-dimensional radiation treatment planning, dose calculations, stereotactic radiation treatment and imaging science will be reviewed. Find out the significance of W.C. Roentgen's discovery 100 years ago and where the field is headed!
