ICDIM96
The Thirteenth International Conference on Defects in Insulating Materials
Wake Forest University, July 15 - 19, 1996
The 1996 International Conference on Defects in Insulating Materials
is the 13th in a series that began in 1956 at Argonne on the topic of color
centers in alkali halides and has evolved into a broadly based international
forum on the science and technology of defect- related phenomena in wide-gap
materials, crystalline and otherwise. Band gaps greater than about 3 eV
define the material scope of this conference. Point defects, extended defects,
and dopants are of interest in these materials and at their surfaces or
interfaces. Technological applications will be presented alongside fundamental
measurements and theory.
ICDIM merged in 1984 with EURODIM (Europhysical Conference on
Defects in Insulating Materials), giving rise to a biennial series of international
conferences on this topic. ICDIM92 was held at the castle of Nordkirchen
in Germany. EURODIM94 met in Lyon, France. ICDIM96 will be at Wake
Forest University in Winston-Salem,
North Carolina, USA, July 15 - 19,
1996.
