Manuscript Preparation for Proceedings

The refereed proceedings of ICDIM96 will be published by Trans Tech Publications Ltd (Switzerland) as a special volume for participants and as a journal issue of Materials Science Forum. Papers published in the proceedings must represent new work not published elsewhere. We ask authors of multiple presentations to choose one paper per attending author to submit for publication. When submitting abstracts, indicate which you intend to publish. If there is space within the proceedings target length after all attending authors have been allowed a single paper, the editors will consider further abstracts marked as second papers for publication by an author, and will notify authors well in advance of the meeting if the second paper can also be submitted for the proceedings.

Contributed papers must be 4 pages or less in length. Keynote and plenary papers may be 6 pages. You must follow carefully the preparation instructions for camera-ready manuscripts supplied by the publisher. Bring the original and two copies of your manuscript to the conference and turn them in at the designated Manuscript Desk when registering on the first day. We must insist on this deadline in order to accomplish the reviewing and publish the proceedings on time.

Manuscripts on Disk:

Submission of your manuscript text on disk along with the hard copies is encouraged by the publisher. Articles prepared using any of the more popular word-processing packages, whether MS-DOS or Apple Macintosh-based, are acceptable, but we would ask you to bear a few key points in mind:

The disk containing the electronic version of a manuscript should be accompanied by a camera-ready original and two copies of the article on paper. It is the responsibility of the author to ensure that the version on disk matches the paper copy.

Although most popular formats are acceptable, we cannot guarantee the usability of all disks; if the disk you send proves unusable, we will publish your article from the accompanying hardcopy.

The disk format, word processor file format, file name(s) and the title and authors of the article should be clearly indicated on the disk.

Authors are asked to follow the usual instructions regarding general style as described in the manuscript typing instructions.

Word, WordPerfect, and TeX will be available at the conference for your convenience in making minor corrections in response to referee reports. You may reach your own computer systems by Telnet and FTP. Postscript printers will be available. [an error occurred while processing this directive]
