Description:

Eddy currents set up in a solid ring of aluminum will generate an opposing magnetic field to that of the electromagnet. The ring will be launched off the magnet. Cooling the ring with liquid nitrogen lowers the resistance so it "jumps" higher. A broken ring, however, cannot set up eddy currents and will not jump.
