Overview
The Society of Physics Students (SPS) is a professional association explicitly designed for students. Membership is open to any undergraduate or graduate student interested in Physics. Membership in the Wake Forest Chapter of SPS gives you:
- Key to the WFU SPS Room (108A Olin)
- Physics Today (monthly)
- The SPS Observer (quarterly)
- Journal of Undergraduate Research in Physics (online)
- Career Placement Services
- Eligibility for SPS scholarships, internships, research and travel grants, fellowships and other awards
- Free membership with one AIP Member Society (for undergraduates only) for up to three years.
As part of the WFU Physics Department , we try to increase the awareness of physics both on campus and in the Winston-Salem community; and we try to have some fun too. Some of our favorite events from recent years:
- Overnight star party at the WFU Lodge on the Blue Ridge Parkway.
- Study of low friction inclined planes during night skiing at Sugar Mountain Ski resort.
