Should I major in philosophy?

Graduate study in philosophy

If you are interested in continuing the study of philosophy in graduate school, you should try to be as well informed as possible about the choices. Any member of the department would be happy to advise you about graduate school possibilities and opportunities. You are encouraged to talk with several of us so as to benefit from a variety of perspectives.

There is also a great deal of information available on the web about graduate programs in philosophy, the Philosophical Gourmet Report being perhaps the most notable example. The PGR is a wonderful resource, but like pretty much everything else, it should be read with an open but critical mind. See Keith DeRose, For and Against the Use of Rankings to get a sense of some of the issues.
