The Wake Forest University Parents Council
About the Council
The Wake Forest Parents Council serves as a vehicle for parents of current students to communicate ideas, questions, and concerns to the University through their Council representatives.
Parents Council members provide Wake Forest with direction by studying issues, offering guidance, and acting as liaisons. Parents Council members also serve as ambassadors in their geographic area to prospective Wake Forest students.
The Wake Forest Parents Council is comprised of approximately eighty-five couples, representing the parents of over 3,500 undergraduates. The Council meets twice during the school year, once each semester. Terms are two years in length and are renewable. Members are selected based on their interest in and ability to help Wake Forest fulfill its mission.

Activities of the Parents Council
Meetings: The Parents Council meets twice during the academic year, during Family Weekend in the fall and a winter weekend that generally coincides with a home basketball game. They also are invited to participate in the Summer Leadership Conference offsite retreat in July.
Freshman Reach-Out Campaign: Parents Council members contact parents of the freshman class in the fall, giving new parents an opportunity to ask questions, voice concerns, or provide feedback on their childrens experiences. Council members are asked to contact ten to fifteen families.
Early Admit Reach-Out Program: Members of the Executive Committee of the Parents Council contact each member of the incoming freshman class who has received early admission to Wake Forest.
Parents Campaign: Each Parents Council member is asked to make an annual contribution to the Parents Campaign. During the 2004-2005 campaign, Parents Council members contributed over $310,000.
In addition, the Parents Council conducts the annual Parents Campaign. Gifts to the campaign support the College Fund, Wake Forests annual unrestricted giving program. During the spring semester, Parents Council members contact freshman parents, seeking their support of the College Fund.
