Wake Forest schedules flu vaccine clinic Dec. 3

November 20, 2009

Wake Forest University will hold an H1N1 flu vaccine clinic Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Benson University Center, Room 401.

The university is offering the vaccine to students, staff and faculty who meet eligibility requirements established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.   At Wake Forest, those eligible include individuals under age 25, individuals age 25 to 64 with underlying health problems such as asthma that place them at a higher risk for flu complications, parents or caretakers of children ages six months to three years, pregnant women and healthcare workers.

The vaccine will be available in two forms—injectable and nasal spray.

Registration is available through the Professional Development Center (PDC).  To register for the vaccine, go to http://pdc.wfu.edu/health_wellness.  University officials strongly encourage all interested students, staff and faculty to register, as there is limited ability to accommodate walk-ins.

The university continues to update its H1N1 flu Web site at http://www.wfu.edu/h1n1flu/.  The site contains additional information about the flu, the vaccine, the clinics and other matters associated with the issue.
