Puckett, Hagy to give 'Last Lectures'

March 30, 2009

Two Wake Forest University professors, Jenny Puckett, lecturer in Romance languages, and David Hagy, professor of music, will present lectures in April as part of the Wake Forest Student Union’s “Last Lectures” series.

Puckett will present “7 Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Mother (So Dear)” at 7:30 p.m. April 8 in Pugh Auditorium, located in Benson University Center.

Hagy will present “Have I Learned Anything Yet?” at 7:30 p.m. April 22 in Annenberg Forum, Carswell Hall, Room 111.

The series was created by students after being inspired by Randy Paush, the dying 47-year-old professor at Carnegie-Mellon University, who gave his captivating “last lecture” that became a world-wide phenomenon.  Wake Forest students started the series to encourage professors to share the kind of insight they would share as if it were their last lecture.

Both events are free and open to the public.
