November 19, 2008
Wake Forest University will present a lecture by Ron Geaves, professor of comparative religion at Liverpool Hope University in England at 2 p.m. Nov. 23 in Wait Chapel. His lecture, “Islam in the English Speaking World: A Report from the United Kingdom,” is free and open to the public.
Geaves is widely regarded as England’s foremost authority on the developing relationships between Muslims and the majority Christian population in the United Kingdom and other countries of the Western world, according to Frank Wood, Wake Forest University School of Medicine Professor Emeritus of Neuropsychology. Geaves is a guest lecturer for a class Wood is teaching at Wake Forest titled “Forgiveness as a Social Strategy.”
The event is sponsored by the Office of the Provost at Wake Forest University, through the Fund for Ethics, Leadership and Civic Responsibility under a grant from the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation.
