'Digital Politics' class studies influence of YouTube, FaceBook, blogs on election
October 23, 2008
How important are YouTube, FaceBook, blogs, wikis and Web sites in this election? Students in “Digital Politics,” a class taught this fall by Wake Forest University Communication Professor Allan Louden, are discussing these hot topics every week. They are also talking about the effectiveness of campaign-generated e-mail and banner advertising.
On Oct. 27, students will make presentations examining the influence of parody/comedy on the Web, the influence of YouTube, and the importance of political music videos. To find out what young voters think of digital politics as the election approaches, media can visit the “Digital Politics” class Oct. 27 or Nov. 3 from 3 to 5 p.m. Contact the News Service to make arrangements.
