University will offer shuttle service to downtown 'Rock the Block' event

September 16, 2008

The Wake Forest University Police Department will provide a special shuttle service between the Reynolda Campus and downtown Winston-Salem for the Sept. 19 “Rock the Block” event on Fourth Street.  The event, produced by the City of Winston-Salem and the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership, is scheduled to take place from 6 p.m. to midnight.

The shuttle bus will pick up riders in front of Benson University Center beginning at 6 p.m., with additional departures every 30 minutes.  The shuttle bus will drop off riders downtown at Benton Convention Center, a short walk from the event area.  Returning shuttles to campus will depart the convention center every 30 minutes, with the last departure at 2 a.m.

Special signs will be posted at both shuttle stops and on the bus itself.

A Wake Forest identification card must be presented to ride the shuttle.
