History lecture to focus on Ancient Indian Ocean Trade

Stanley Burstein, professor emeritus of Ancient Greek history at California State University, will present a lecture titled “Kush, Axum and the Ancient Indian Ocean Trade” at 6 p.m. Sept. 15 in Scales Fine Arts Center, Room 102.
Burstein has published work including “Outpost of Hellenism: The Emergence of Heraclea on the Black Sea,” “The Reign of Cleopatra” and “Ancient Greece: A Brief History.”
The lecture, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Wake Forest University history department and is part of the Borderlands in World History lecture series.
