Wake Forest Music Department announces September concerts

Wake Forest University’s Department of Music begins the 2008-2009 academic year with two concerts in September.  All events are held in Brendle Recital Hall and are free and open to the public.

Sept. 12:  Ivory, Wood, and Steel:  Chamber Music for Clarinet, Viola and Piano, 7:30 p.m.

Clarinetist Eileen Young, violist Christina Placilla and pianist Barbara Lister-Sink will perform music by Mozart, Schumann and Pergolesi.

Sept. 26:  Student Showcase, 7:30 p.m.

Students chosen by the Wake Forest faculty based on their performances in the 2007-2008 academic year will perform a showcase concert.   Student performers will include:  Tony DeMartino, baritone; Evelyn Eisele, piano; Jacqueline Ely, harp; Sarah Lieber, bassoon; Dan Ruehr, violin; and The Saxophone Quartet.
