Calloway School announces first Reznick Group Faculty Fellow

May 6, 2008

Wake Forest University’s Calloway School of Business and Accountancy has announced the creation of a new faculty fellowship position and named Wake Forest graduate Allison Evans as the first Reznick Group Accounting Faculty Fellow.

Evans will join the Wake Forest faculty July 1.  She has served as an assistant professor of accounting in the Cameron School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington since 2006.

“A few years ago, as we began to really feel the crunch of limited accounting faculty resources in an environment of growing student demand for our Master of Science in Accounting program, Reznick Group stepped up to commit significant financial resources to help us meet this need,” said Jack Wilkerson, dean of the Calloway School.  “Now that we’ve made our first tenure-track hire since Reznick made this commitment, it seems entirely appropriate to name Allison Evans our first Reznick Group Accounting Faculty Fellow.”

Evans received a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy from Wake Forest in 2000, graduating magna cum laude.  She received a Master of Science degree in accountancy from Wake Forest in 2000 and a doctoral degree in accountancy and taxation from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006.

“Reznick Group is excited to be part of the growth of Wake Forest University’s accounting program,” said Tom Fassett, Reznick Group Office Managing Principal of the Charlotte, N.C. office.  “We look forward to continuing our bond with the university, its alumni and its students.”

The Calloway School offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting as well as bachelor’s degrees in business, mathematical business and finance.  BusinessWeek magazine ranks the Calloway School 21st among the nation’s top undergraduate business schools, and U.S. News & World Report magazine ranks the Calloway School 27th on its list.  Since the Calloway School began offering a Master of Science in Accounting degree in 1997, its graduates have achieved the top national ranking six times and placed second in the nation three times for the highest percentage of candidates passing all four sections of the Certified Public Accountant exam on their first attempt.  For more information about the Calloway School, visit http://calloway.wfu.edu.
