Wake Forest Board of Trustees elects officers, members

The Wake Forest University Board of Trustees elected officers and members at its April 3 meeting.
The board re-elected K. Wayne Smith of Newton as chair and James T. Williams Jr. of Greensboro as vice chair. Smith is president emeritus of OCLC Online Computer Library Center Inc. and a former White House senior staff member and Wake Forest professor. Williams is an attorney with Brooks, Pierce, McLendon, Humphrey & Leonard LLC.
The following individuals were elected as first-time members of the board: Thomas W. Bunn of Shaker Heights, Ohio, president of Key Corporate and Investment Banking; Thomas A. Dingledine of Charlottesville, Va., president of Exploration Partners LLC; Frederick (Eric) W. Eubank II of Charlotte, a partner in Wachovia Capital Partners LLC; Donald D. Leonard of Myrtle Beach, S.C., president of Leonard Call & Associates; and Benjamin C. Sutton Jr. of Winston-Salem, president of International Sports Properties Inc.
Wake Forest junior Lauren K. Hubbard of Social Circle, Ga., was elected as the student member of the board.
A current member returning to the board is Adelaide (Alex) A. Sink of Thonotosassa, Fla., chief financial officer of the state of Florida.
Former members re-elected to the board were: James R. Helvey III of Winston-Salem, president of Helvey and Associates LLC; Alice Kirby Horton of Durham; and Andrew J. Schindler of Winston-Salem, retired president of Reynolds American Inc.
The following individuals were elected as life trustees: Ronald E. Deal of Hickory, chairman of Wesley Hall Inc.; Murray C. Greason Jr. of Winston-Salem, an attorney with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice; William B. Greene Jr. of Gray, Tenn., chairman of Carter County Bank; Jeanette W. Hyde of Raleigh, a former U.S. ambassador; and Dee Hughes LeRoy of Charleston, S.C.
