Choral concert features new arrangement in memory of Skip Prosser
March 17, 2008
Wake Forest University’s Concert Choir, directed by Brian Gorelick, will perform a home concert at 8 p.m. March 26 in Brendle Recital Hall.
The concert will feature contemporary selections by American and Canadian composers, including the world premier of Susan Borwick’s arrangement of the spiritual “Balm in Gilead” in memory of Wake Forest basketball coach Skip Prosser. Borwick is a professor of music at Wake Forest.
Prosser died unexpectedly in 2007.
The choir will also perform “O Sacrum Convivium” by Wake Forest’s composer-in-residence Dan Locklair and “I Will Sing Unto the Lord” by Canadian composer Imant Raminsh.
Tickets for the concert are $10 for adults; $5 for students and are available at the door. All proceeds will be used to help cover travel expenses for the choir’s 2010 International Tour.
Tickets may be reserved in advance by calling (336) 758-5364.
