Wake Forest Theatre production tells story of frightening journey through memory

The Wake Forest University Theatre will present “Wings” by Arthur Kopit February 21-23 and February 27-March 1 at 7:30 p.m. Matinee performances will be held at 2 p.m. February 24 and March 2. All performances will be held in the Ring Theatre in Scales Fine Arts Center.
Directed by Cindy Gendrich, associate professor of theatre, the play follows the life of a former wing-walker named Emily Stilson as she suffers a stroke, loses her ability to speak and comprehend language and is gradually helped to recognize words.
Two post-performance discussions will be held in conjunction with the production. The first one will immediately follow the February 21 performance and will focus on the creative process and collaboration of the production. The second one will follow the March 2 performance, and the topic will be strokes.
Seating will be very limited in the Ring Theatre. Patrons arriving late will not be admitted once the show is in progress.
