Wake Forest's immigration conference to air on radio station WFDD
January 4, 2008
An immigration conference held at Wake Forest University last October will be broadcast on radio station WFDD (88.5 FM) throughout January.
WFDD, which broadcasts from Wake Forest, will air different portions of the three-day conference each Sunday evening in January from 6-7 p.m. and 7-8 p.m.
Called “Immigration: Recasting the Debate,” the conference was held Oct. 3-5. It kicked off the university’s 2007-2008 Voices of Our Time speaker series, which is free and open to the public.
Throughout the conference, representatives from such organizations as the Cato Institute, the Economic Policy Institute, The Heritage Foundation and the World Policy Institute addressed various aspects of immigration. Scholars from across the country participated. Ray Marshall, former U.S. secretary of labor in the Carter administration, opened the conference with a keynote address.
