Free holiday events to be held at Wake Forest

Each year, Wake Forest University invites the community to attend several free holiday events.
- Sixth Annual Carols of the Bells
Nov. 28, 7 p.m. Davis Chapel
Features the Wake Forest Student Handbell Ensemble performing holiday selections, including “Sleigh Ride,” “I Saw Three Ships,” “The Holly and the Ivy” and other favorites. Admission is free, but donations are accepted for Brenner Children’s Hospital.

- Annual Christmas Lovefeast
Dec. 2, 8 p.m. Wait Chapel
Popular event featuring one of the largest traditional Moravian lovefeast and candlelight services in North Carolina. Guest speaker will be Edwin G. Wilson, provost emeritus at Wake Forest. Luminaries encircle Hearn Plaza. Donations accepted for the Chaplain’s Emergency Fund.

Dec. 4, 7 p.m. Hearn Plaza
A holiday celebration featuring music, singing, speakers and refreshments. Students decorate the plaza with a live evergreen tree, greenery and lights.

Dec. 6, 8 p.m. Brendle Recital Hall, Scales Fine Arts Center
Features holiday musical performances and carol singing by the Wake Forest choral department. Each of the ensembles will sing selections from Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio.”
