Wake Forest welcomes new students

Wake Forest University expects approximately 1,130 incoming freshmen to arrive on campus Aug. 23.

Freshman orientation begins with move-in and runs through Aug. 27.  Freshmen will move into their residence halls throughout the day beginning at 8 a.m.  Nearly all freshmen will live on campus.  Sophomores, juniors and seniors will move into their residence halls Aug. 25 and 26.  Classes for all undergraduates will begin Aug. 29.

This year’s freshman class represents 45 states and 10 foreign countries.  Twenty-two percent are North Carolina residents. Thirty-seven percent of the students graduated within the top 5 percent of their high school classes, and sixty-four percent graduated within the top 10 percent.  Sixteen percent are minorities.

Orientation for the Divinity School’s approximately 37 new studens begins theevening of Aug. 22.  The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences on Reynolda Campus begins orientation for its approximately 185 new students on Aug. 28.  Classes for both Schools begin Aug. 29.

Orientation for the approximately 83 new full-time MBA students begins Aug. 13. Classes for the full-time program in the Babcock Graduate School Management begin Aug. 20.

The School of Law will begin orientation for the approximately 160 first-year students Aug. 13, with classes beginning Aug. 20.
