Advisory: Media invited to attend Irish Festival Community Day

Wake Forest University’s 10th annual Irish Festival Community Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 17 on Davis Field at Wake Forest.
The event, which draws thousands of visitors, will highlight the historical relationships between Irish and Appalachian cultural heritages in North Carolina. It will feature a variety of activities, including Appalachian and Irish music, dancing and storytelling, hurling, children’s activities and jam sessions.
This year, storyteller Andrew Leslie will tell “Stories from the Emerald Isle” and “Jack Tales of the Mountains.” Musical groups Fire in the Kitchen and Green Folk will perform. Rince Na H’Eireann (Triad Irish Dancers) and the Rhythm Master Cloggers will perform traditional dances, teach dance workshops and close the event with a special combined performance.
