Guster in concert at Wake Forest

March 1, 2007

Guster will perform at Wake Forest University at 8 p.m. March 28 in Wait Chapel as part of their second annual Spring Campus Consciousness Tour.  The opening act will be The Format.

Tickets are $25 and are available online at www.wfu.tickets.musictoday.com.

The Spring Campus Consciousness Tour was created in 2006 by band member Adam Gardner and his wife, Lauren Sullivan.  The tour is a project of their environmental non-profit, Reverb, and aims to help educate, inspire and motivate students to make their campuses more “green.”

The group actively incorporates eco-friendly practices into the tour and the venues they visit.  They work with NativeEnergy to find ways to offset global warming emissions; use biodeisel-powered tour buses and trucks; use rechargeable batteries for instruments; and recycle while traveling and at venues.  They even recycle used guitar strings for use in making artisan jewelry.

In addition to the concert, the group will set up booths where concert attendees can participate in a meet-and-greet with the band, learn more about renewable energy and alternative fuels and sample eco-friendly products.

The event is sponsored by the Student Union and funded by the Student Activities Fee.  For more information, call (336) 758-4265.
