Wind quintet concert to be held Jan. 31 at Wake Forest

Wake Forest University’s music department will feature a Faculty Wind Quintet Concert at 8 p.m. Jan. 31 in Brendle Recital Hall.  (Some calendar listings and ads incorrectly list the date as Jan. 30.  The correct date is Jan. 31.

The concert is open to the public, and admission is free.

The quintet features Wake Forest music faculty members: Kathryn Levy, flute; Anna Lampidis, oboe; Eileen Young, clarinet; Rebecca Hammontree, bassoon; and Robert Campbell, horn. 

The group will perform “Quintet, Opus 67, No. 2” by Franz Danzi; “Kleine Kammermusik fur funf Blaser” by Paul Hindemith and “Troie pieces breves” by Jacque Ibert.  Levy, Lampidis and Young will also perform two trios by Gordon Jacob and Paul deWailly.

In addition to teaching at Wake Forest, the quintet members also perform with numerous symphonic and chamber groups in the region.
