Advisory: Wake Forest web site offers Orange Bowl information
December 20, 2006
News media covering Wake Forest University’s participation in the FedEx Orange Bowl on Jan. 2 will find information about the university and its Orange Bowl-related activities on the Wake Forest Web site.
Web visitors may access Orange Bowl-related information from the university’s home page at www.wfu.edu, or they may go directly to particular pages on the Wake Forest site intended to serve the entire university community, Wake Forest fans and the news media.
Those Web pages include:
- www.wfu.edu/orangebowl/info. A portal page intended to serve everyone, the page offers details on Miami-area welcome centers for Wake Forest fans, gathering places for Wake Forest fans in the area, tailgate activities, game ticket updates, and more.
- www.wfu.edu/orangebowl. It is a new Wake Forest News Service page designed especially for the news media (sports and non-sports journalists). The site offers quick facts about the university and a collection of news releases and story ideas related to the Orange Bowl. It features comments from Wake Forest President Nathan O. Hatch on his previous experience with the Orange Bowl when he was an administrator and faculty member at the University of Notre Dame.
- www.wakeforestsports.com. As always, Wake Forest’s Sports Media Relations office offers regularly updated sports information regarding the Orange Bowl and more at this Web location.
The News Service is open through Dec. 22 to take calls from the news media. The News Service will be closed Dec. 23 through Jan. 1, while the university is closed for the holidays, but news outlets can reach Wake Forest Director of Media Relations Kevin Cox at 336-391-6747 (mobile phone) or at 336-758-5237 (office, leave messages). Cox can be reached by e-mail at email@example.com.
