WFU chamber music concert rescheduled for 3 p.m. Nov. 18
November 13, 2006
The Student Chamber Music Concert originally scheduled for Nov. 18 at 8 p.m. has been rescheduled for 3 p.m. The concert will be held in Brendle Recital Hall in Scales Fine Arts Center. Admission is free.
"Several wind players faced an unavoidable conflict with the recently changed marching band schedule for the televised football game this Saturday evening, and we would have had to cancel half of the chamber music program,” said Jacqui Carrasco, associate professor of music at Wake Forest. “Instead, we have opted to keep the program complete and switch to the 3 p.m. time. Although we wish we didn’t have to change the concert, we do it with a good spirit. The music faculty is excited about the success of our football team.”
The concert, “Romanticism and Beyond,” will feature several Wake Forest chamber groups, including the Wake Forest Clarinet Choir, the Quintessential Winds, the Wake Forest Saxophone Quartet and others, performing the music of the great Romantic composers Felix Mendelssohn and Robert Schumann and French composers Charles Lefebvre and Pierre Lantier.
