Advisory: Media invited to attend Justice O’Connor event

September 5, 2006

Members of the media are invited to attend “A Conversation with Sandra Day O’Connor” featuring retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor Sept. 21 at Wake Forest University. The event will begin at 4 p.m. in Wait Chapel.

Sponsored by the Wake Forest School of Law, the lecture will serve as the university’s Constitution Day event and is open to members of the Wake Forest community, the law community and invited guests. The program will follow an interview format with Suzanne Reynolds, professor of law, asking O’Connor questions about her life as a legal professional.

The event is part of a series that brings role models in the legal profession to Wake Forest to discuss their professional lives and is one of the university’s new “Voices of Our Time” events, which brings renowned experts to campus to explore timely issues.

Media seating is available in the front row on the right side of Wait Chapel. Cameras may set up in the right stairway. Media needing line-level audio should arrive at Wait Chapel no later than 3:30 p.m.

Photographers will be permitted to move to the front of the hall for the first three minutes of the presentation. No flash photography will be permitted. O’Connor will not be available for interviews.

Parking is available in lot A beside Wait Chapel or in lot Q behind the chapel.
