Chilean-American classical guitarist, began her formal studies with Jesus Silva and holds a BM from the North Carolina School of the Arts, and an MM from UNC-Greensboro. In 1980 she joined the music faculty at Wake Forest University where she has pursued an active teaching and performing career. She pursued studies in Spain with Jose Luis Rodrigo and José Tomas and has worked in collaboration with Isabel Siewers in Argentina and Jeffrey Van in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Ms. Dixon has performed in Spain, South America and the United States, appearing as a soloist in university artist series, in chamber music concerts, and in festivals such as the Eastern Music Festival. She has been featured as a soloist with the National Youth Symphony Orchestra of Santiago, Chile, the Winston-Salem Piedmont Triad Symphony, the Carolina Chamber Symphony and the Monterrey Symphony.

She has presented lecture/recitals at the North Carolina Center for the advancement of Teaching, and institues of higher learning such as the Cincinnati College-Music Conservatory and the North Carolina School of the Arts where she teaches Guitar History and Literature.

In 1989 she served as director of the Second American Guitar Congress, hosted at Wake Forest University. Her contributions to the guitar repertoire include commissioned works for solo guitar, chamber music with guitar, and guitar and orchestra. Her recent CD features the music of composer Jeffrey Van on the Centaur label.
