A concert featuring ethnic music from Latin America, Eastern Europe and Hungary. The performers are Kathryn Levy, flute; Anna Lampidis, oboe; Eileen Young, clarinet; Rebecca Libera, bassoon; and Bob Campbell, horn.

Guest Recital: Claudio Hernández, lute

Chilean lutenist performing a program of French baroque music, featuring works of Pierre Gaultier and Rene Mesangeau from the early part of the century. Hernández studied in Milan, Italy and teaches at the School of Modern Music in Santiago, Chile. He is recognized as one of the finest specialists in Renaissance lute music.

Trumpeter Alison Balcom, a rare female soloist in the largely male world of trumpet playing, is a star clearly on the ascent. In her twenties, she already holds a record contract on EMI, was awarded the Best Young British Performer in the 2006 Classical Brit Awards, won the Premier Prix for the 'Most Beautiful Sound' at the Maurice Andre International Trumpet Competition in 2000 in Paris, and made her debut with the L.A. Philharmonic in January. She has appeared as a recital artist at Wigmore Hall, Purcell Room and the Barbican in London, as well as venues throughout Europe.
