Directions to Brendle Recital Hall Wake Forest provides numerous opportunities for music students to attend concerts by performers of national and international repute. The Secrest Artists Series brings to the campus the best of the established and the most promising of the new artists in the performing arts world. Recently featured artists include Denyce Graves, mezzo-soprano opera star; Eugenia Zukerman, flutist; Eileen Ivers, Celtic fiddler; Doc Severinsen and his Big Band; Itzak Perlman, violinist; Christopher Parkening, guitarist and the early music vocal ensemble, Anonymous 4. Pre-concert talks by University professors enhance the performance experience, and, occasionally, master classes with a Secrest artist are offered to qualified music students. Each year the series sponsors five concerts and admission is free to Wake Forest faculty, staff and students. |
