About Us

Since the 1970's, the program in Humanities at Wake Forest has offered undergraduate students a forum for studying in coursework that would not normally fall in the jurisdiction of our various departments. Interdisciplinary courses, surveys of literature in translation, and innovative electives have been designed and offered when time and resources permit.
Lately, our program has drawn into a tighter focus, and has developed a minor in humanities which is now available to all who are interested. One may continue to find interesting electives in Humanities, or one can undertake to complete our two core courses, HMN 280 and HMN 290, develop a plan for the minor, and execute it under the guidance of an adviser and a committee which will read the final paper.
